If you are very tall and are looking for back and neck support, you might want to look at High Back office chairs rather than looking at low back office chairs, for example. Another thing to consider is the height of the seat from the ground. Select a chair that has a desired height range for you. Also if you are tall, you may want to buy an office chair that allows you to adjust the height of the armrests. (More on getting the height right.)
How wide are you? If you are wide in the shoulders, arm-span or waist then you will probably want to look for a chair with adjustable arm width. Many chairs have options to extend the width between the arms. Some also include the option of moving the position of the arm wrests on the chair. This will be an important thing to consider if you have longer arms. You may prefer a wider armrest adjustment so that you don’t feel like your arms are scrunched. If you have special needs for supporting your lumbar, make sure this is a feature of the chair you are looking at. Also, make sure you get the correct height on the chair back. The Lumbar support may hit the places on your back if you get the wrong size office chair. There is nothing worse than being tall and sitting in a low back office chair that is much too low for your back.
