How long will you be sitting at your desk? Are you in a job where you are sitting part of the time and getting up a lot to move around the office? If the answer is yes, you will want to consider whether the chair you are looking at would allow you to easily get up and down. If your chair is stationed in an entry or other heavily trafficked area of the office you will want to buy a chair that does not obstruct the work area.
On the other hand, if you are sitting for long hours in your office, you will want to get something designed for that. Not only should you look for comfort, but also ask questions about foam density. Some denser foams are design for longer hours of sitting, so the foam will maintain it comfort for longer. This is especially important if you are purchasing a chair for a security guard post or similar use. If a chair is in almost constant use, you will definitely want to buy a chair designed for 24-hour use. Otherwise your company will be buying a new chair very frequently, or alternately, will have disgruntled security guards, nurses, receptionists or other employees.
